Determining Success
The ultimate goal of an intervention is getting the addict to enter a treatment center, period. However, there are other levels of success you can achieve by simply making the first call for help.
- You build awareness of the problem
- You break the silence and send a clear message and establish boundaries with the addict of what you will and will not tolerate
- You help bring family and friends together and present a unified front
- You start doing something constructive rather than letting the addict ruin their life and yours.
- You lower your stress and increase your safety.
